Greenleaf Management has completed sampling and evaluation of mold growth in single and multi-family housing and commercial structures.
Request for mold assessments occur when residents observe mold growth and/or experience chronic upper respiratory problems whose cause cannot be found by doctors.
Assessments for mold include indoor and outdoor air samples and wipe samples of surfaces where mold is observed or suspected. Since molds naturally occur in the environment, it is necessary to sample both the indoor and outdoor air to determine if mold is increasing internally in comparison to outdoor sources. Samples are sent to a laboratory where they are cultured and observed to identify genera and species of mold present and whether it is viable. Certain molds cause toxic reactions in humans while others produce myco-toxins causing allergic reactions and respiratory infections. Levels of exposure that cause allergic reactions and infections vary by person. Laboratories will provide results to medical doctors when necessary.
Greenleaf Management also provides recommendations and plans for eliminating moisture sources in and under structures. These include drying the moist areas, HEPA filters to remove mold spores from indoor air, and biocides to eliminate mold infestations in wall cavities and other remote locations. |
